FiM has the weird habit 90s cartoons had. Almost shocking to be watching a cut and dry flash cartoon, then suddenly you get Spongebob.

Source? FiM does live action segments to cut animation times sometimes. In Pinkie Pride the live action stuff was originally animated but it not only fit a gag but saved animating time.

The candy canes were real, everything else was animated I believe.
