I don't even know why they force it so much. I find a lot of the jokes really funny when they do it deadpan,("We didn't name you Apple Bloom so you could become the president always gets me) but that trombone just makes me lose the will to be happy.
As for the forced memes all abridged series' are guilty of that. Compared to those i personally think FiW is one of the better ones.

It's fun. Some of the earlier episodes are quite boring but there are some good episodes too. Many of their jokes are pretty bad though. I used to really enjoy the deep lore, that was one of my favourite parts early on. And the songs are classics, still some of the most popular to sing at brony meetups.

MAS is way better as a comedy series, even if it's a bit up its own ass. Even disregarding Sherclops attempts at killing Greg's stuff via character assassination I'd still put Greg heads and shoulders above them.

Warcab does the 'lolsorandum" type thing way better with is series, though I personally don't like that style.

MAS is more like Seinfeld. All the characters are assholes and it's more about them being assholes to each other and the comedy comes naturally in the conversations. But it's older and not as flashy.

FiW is like Family Guy. Its got some genuinely funny bits hidden in stacks of unfunny meme attempts. It's also popular to shit on.

Let's just say it out loud and repeat it a lot. Because this board is so autistic and has so many memory problems that they can't remember where they live.

We had a total of 2 completed abridged series ehich SUCKED ASS. Like complete autism ass. The voices were horrible, the jokes were a bunch of random idiotic gibberish dialogue so they don't say they didn't fill it up with something.

The way they "abridge" makes me wanna puke and once again give DBZ and YuGiOh and Hellsing abridged the golden medal for best parody series. When actually they suck ass too because their jokes are terrible.
Dbz's voices are alright. The first 2 seasons are alright, but season 3 with the androids sucks ass.
As for yugiog that shit went to hell quick when Picora and Marik got introduced.

The only remotely decent episode I can think of coming from witchcraft was Canterlot Wedding. Because that was an actual parody which was abridging/mocking the original in a somewhat funny manner.
The rest dear god no those were horrible. Were they on cocaine or did they turn their autism levels to the max? Maybe both.
And the "witchcraft" "idea" are they genuinely retarded or just cripplingly dumb? I think I can tie them up to a chair and torture them by breaking their ovaries and testicles and they still won't be able to give me a logical answer as to why the fuck did they think "witchcraft" is a good idea.

Ponk was by far FiW's best character.

MAS got hit hard by copyright, and the first 4 episodes are kind bad, but MAS 7-9 are IMO the best pony parodies ever done.

The story of MAS is basically the universe shitting on one man while he tries to make fun of ponies, so knowing Greg's struggle is part of the fun.

FiW was pretty funny but clearly overrated. Songs were great of course, and the voice acting and overall production quality was good.

Actually what happened was Griffin and Jenny just wanted to stop being amongst the fandom because they've finally had enough so they stopped making fiw, pretending that they really "couldnt" make any more. Jenny's not QUITE an SJW but she is a feminist and all her friends are tumblrina SJW's and she's even been friends with Kick-Neckbeard-Ass and PinkiePony. Griffin's way autistic and decided to become a LetsPlayer and he's trying to make himself into a pathetic internet personity. Griffin's kind of an SJW-type as well. He used to do nude livestreams while drunk.

I adore Friendship is Witchcraft though. Might be the best abridged type of series out there.
