As to what the guy in the last thread said about halo 5. I'm not taking that to heart, everyone said halo 4 was disappointing, and personally, I liked it. So I'll leave judgment for when I play it.

I don't know if I'm a nostalgiafag, I'm getting old or most modern fps are just plain shit, and I mean most fps that were made in the last decade. Never enjoyed Halo because it looked like Unreal but played like a sluggish version of Unreal with way, way less creative weapons, modern military shooters looks like cynical cash grabs to me and even the most decent ones feels like a linear path with dumbed down shooting mechanic and no enemy variety whatsoever with a mp based on close encounters and an incredibly low skill ceilling.

There has been good shit, I mean, Shadow Warrior was great and Wolfenstein was fun. And it's not like I can't enjoy games anymore, after watching the Half Life posts on the other thread I went to replay the series and had a fucking blast, gonna start Deus Ex again.

Maybe I'm old and stuck with shit of my youth

Same here, I felt like Reach was a bit of a stretch, but I enjoyed it. 4 was just a gigantic, confusing letdown. 5 is no different from what I've seen of it.

Not only the games, but there are almost 20 books pertaining to the Halo universe, almost all of which have been accepted as canon. I've read all of them, and they're fantastic ways of getting Halo, without paying Halo.

I loved Wars, hated Reach and 4, and am loving 5. Wars 2 will be where my life goes. 5's story is confusing because they don't explain anyone's motivations, like why the hell does Halsey want to stop Cortana. Hopefully it resolves by the end of the game, but it's still a fun play regardless
