Applejack is just a southern stereotype.

Even when we learn her backstory, we only learn that she tried to run away from being a farm pony, only to discover that's what she was "destined" to do.

She'll never amount to anything greater, she's just a plain old earth pony with no potential at all.

Unless you're literally a redneck who likes drinking beer, playing in the mud, ATV'ing and shootin gunz you'd probably never get along with her if you met her.

Why do I assume she likes those things? Because she is a southern stereotype, so of course.

Unlike all the other members of the main cast who have more relatable personalities, Applejacks appeals to the lowest common denominator.

The farm girl stereotype, and lets be honest, when has a farm girl ever made a difference in our society? Never. Never ever ever has a farm girl had any impact on society at all. They're a niche group at best and I honestly don't know why they put a character like this in the show.

At least with Rarity she fits in with Canterlots uppercrust, meanwhile Applejack just sits on a farm all day.
