Where in S1 and S2 we occasionally saw her break her usual shy character when the right buttons were pushed, afterwards she became the most stereotypical shy doormat conceivable.
The only other thing she now has to her character is her relationship with Discord, and in episodes which focus on that she's basically part of the decor in favor of Discord and new characters,
It seems as if the writers have given up on her because they simply don't know where to go with her character, judging by the fact she now has the least amount of episodes and screen time out of the Mane 6.
