Gonna be honest, I don't believe stats actually do anything in Foal quest or any other cyoa. QM's make that shit up on the fly because the alternative would have us believe that they've got some sort of balanced and fully realized game system hiding on the backend and thats a little too much.

I don't believe that we hit for 32 because that's what our offensive value vs their defensive value spits out, i believe we hit for 32 because that's the amount of damage the QM wants to help structure the fight.

I think there's a system but they end up fudging it more often than not. While I don't like battle systems, when we have to use them I'd much prefer they not be fudged. Else we might as well not have it and have decision fights which everyone seems to prefer.

I know you're probably memeing, but there is some truth to your words. JUST was the deciding factor in my decision to run tonight, even though I wasn't feeling up to it. In that time, I killed the PC with an event they had no control over, threw them at a god-expy, and told them directly that the quest had an artificial time limit for no reason besides not wanting to run it anymore. Now I'm not entirely certain I can recover from it, even though the whole quest was a dumb little thing based on ridiculous ideas nobody probably expected to go anywhere.

Remember, there's a lot to be said for JUST, but sometimes, you need to know when to DON'T.

I don't want to post too much of this shit since It's very likely I won't end up running it, but what is your opinion on >pic related in comparison to the last scene I posted?
Do you guys like the new cardboard style bushes, crystals, ledge grass, and clouds or did you prefer the texture based flat ones more? There are examples of both in the scene.
I also found this neat "Ambient Occlusion" option in the display settings, but I can't figure out if I like it or not.

since it's missing two items, the only ones there capable of restoration are the Ivory Goblet, Tome of Duplicity, Wishing Diary, and Lich's Bookmark.

In the 100 items list, one is the Old Bandage which closes wounds and the Tape Recorder which fast forwards or rewinds small areas.

Choose a premise that can be wrapped up and completed in a single thread.
That way, if you get overwhelmed by the stress you can end the quest instead of leaving it on permanent hiatus. After completing it you can make a judgement call on whether you want to start up another longer CYOA.

Does the Inn ever get any mail?
I mean, a letter was what started off the whole thing so its confirmed the mail service exists, at least in cities.
In Ponyville the deliveries are all made personally. But there hasn't yet been any mention of written letters for delivery.That I remember
So does Pot Luck have to go to the post office to get his mail himself, or just wait for it to come to him?
Plus, he's got family outside of town too. I think he would write to them eventually.

Speaking of wanting things, remember that battle thing I tested here last week? Would anyone be interested in a CYOA of that? It'd probably just be a tournament, with the games being fast-paced action scenes and everything in between being more character-focused like Threshold. If there's still a market for a game like that, I'd be glad to provide it.

Added bonus: Due to the lack of giant robots, zombie outbreaks, eldritch beings, and top-secret facilities trying to contain said giant robots, zombie outbreaks, and eldritch beings, death will hopefully be an extreme rarity. You'd probably have to willingly try to kill yourself to get a death scene.

I was actually already planning on doing that.
That's what that scene before is for. I was considering running a demo quest set on filly Panky's rock farm so I could get a feel for running a real quest and not just some short one off, but I'm not sure what it's going to be about yet.
I got a few ideas like that boulder they worship got stolen by a rock giant for whatever reason or a gang of kobolds move into the mines and shenanigans ensue but I haven't really put much thought into it beyond wanting it set around the rock farm.
