I don't mean the imagery or the cultural significance of Metal, but simply that visceral, explosive dynamic that you can find in every proper Metal song, whether it's quiet or loud, abrasive or clean, slow or fast. No matter the subgenre, if it's metal, it will induce that rush that's very different from what you'll get from a -core song or hardcore techno or any other adrenalin-inducing genre.
HHH may be a dumbass but he was right in saying that all good metal is characterized by the haptic reaction it produces, it's not the same thing as grooviness, but it's also a surge of energy that you can feel in your flesh, but it progresses in an expansive, explosive manner from the chest, not in short spurts or in pulses like with other genres. It creates that inner tension that's very specific to Metal, whether it's Death, Doom, Black, Power, Industrial or even Glam Metal.
That's what I like the most about Metal and tbh I think it's the only legitimate reason to call yourself a metalhead.
