Can someone point to what makes DS2 artful? don't get me wrong, I like it, but moreso just for it's aestetich. If there is actual lyrical content on here cool. but for the most part the only lines that stuck out for me were

but really there's some great lyrics throughout.
Blood on the Money and Kno the Meaning are two immediate standouts.

I always separate bonus tracks from the album because I agree with the thinking that Jay Z had about American Gangster, no matter which artist it is. I still listen to those songs occasionally but I don't consider them a part of DS2.

i definitely feel that way about reissues.

but with contemporary rap records, it usually feels as though the "deluxe" version is the complete album as intended, with the "regular" version existing mostly as an excuse to milk extra money out of people for the extra tracks.

It's new school boom bap type rap. Styles of Beyond hooked up with Mike Shinoda to make Fort Minor if that gives you an idea. Their music is similar but less pop-y

sounds to me like you're letting one or two individual corny/joke lines ruin what's actually a super dark and depressing album about addiction. read the lyrics more closely, really feel how fucked up the production is, understand that even though it might feel like a new atlanta banger album on first listen it's actually super fucked up. i mean, it definitely has a new atlanta banger sound, but it's more three-dimensional than that. it isn't AOTY or even a 10/10, but it's quality.
