What are some extended techniques/prepared manipulation you have tried to get more out of your instrument/music?

Dunno if this really counts but I've fucked around with these

I used two allen keys to make three bridges on my guitar and tune it to a Koto's tuning and played it like one of those.

Anyone else tried to play overtone acoustic guitar?
If you pluck the strings in a certain way you can get a harmonic sound. I think it has to do with stopping the vibrations.
That was really fun though, used to do minimalistic jams in my bedroom

I should mention that don't actually play guitar

Done the sonic youth screwdriver thing lodged between the strings. Done it with drill bits. Pulled and twisted strings around each other to make weird percussive sounds. Other than that, not much.

Its the addition of various objects to create a wider range of sounds than a standard instrument can typically make. John Cage's works for prepared piano are kind of a gold standard for this technique but many have used it interestingly

Not really that sound. I just play carefully with my nails. Playing on different parts of the string gives different overtones, which is why it's so damn fun. Could sit for long times doing that.
I also had fun with my old violin bow. It's not as fun as it is on electric guitars though.

Also i'd record the sound but vocaroo doesn't work for whatever reason.
