this reminds me of an old recording of pete seeger I heard where he's talking about people learning banjo and their first inclination is to learn how to play faster & faster til they end up just flailing away at 210 bpm.
I feel like a jackass because who am I to give advice - but, especially with as skilled a songwriter as ttmoe, you would do well to take the time to truly feel every word & every note
i.e., just because you can play fast well doesn't mean every song requires it
