I had a friend who used to listen to cool metal and screamo/emo with me. He's a year older. Then he got into fucking Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Necro, Kendrik, BMTH, and other bands jsut to get laid and developed an ultra pleb tase we used to make fun of together. He became a douchey prick who started doing nigger-like (you know the white-guy-turned-black(?) drill)things and acting like a fucking tool. I strayed way from metal by the end of out friendship.

op here -- i don't know if there's money to be made doing this, but my band played local festivals most weekends for about a month this past summer. it was fun at first, tiring and kinda depressing by the end -- these things are literally all the same. I can see how it would be an easy way to 'break even' for a summer though.

I have to pretend like this stuff is okay or else i look like an ass or a hipster who listens to underground music(whatever that means). There are also a houseshow every weekend full of the same bands who make shitty psych-garage music and i only go because friends want to.
