Since the 2000's with the explosion of bands in quantity, quality is far superior. To make yourself seen and listened in the ocean of the music business, you have to produce quality.

Hell no. It is unfair to compare an album of the 1960s with an album of the 1990s (or, worse, later). In the old days it was expensive to make an album, hence musicians would make one only when they had a lot of material and could select the best of the best. The vast majority of their output was left unreleased. As the cost of making a disc decreased, musicians started releasing everything they compose. Inevitably, the average quality of an album has decreased.
When a new genre/style/discipline is created (as it was in the 1960s), pretty much everybody is doing something original and influential that will be remembered for decades or centuries. The generations who come afterwards are not as lucky: whatever they do it is likely to evoke something that was already done a generation or two earlier. Therefore their output sounds less exciting to the listeners of the previous generations.
It is not even clear why there should be albums at all anymore. In the age of the download, why should artists release music in units of roughly 45 minutes? Just because in the 190s that was the format that made sense for the technology available at the time (the 33 RPM long-playing record)? It will eventually become meaningless to rate an "album" because the "album" in most cases is just an artificial marketing tool. Very few "albums" are designed to be such (and they are usually called "concept albums"). The main reason to still group songs together is that they are recorded at the same studios during the same period by the same group of musicians. That too is likely to change in the age of digital recording.

The internet means that all kinds of weird and wonderful oddities can find their audience with way more ease. Sure there's a lot of poptimistic piggybacking, celebrity meme culture and kids making mediocre tunes to get internet famous, but people have a much wider range of influences these days, and musically adventurous types have an untold amount of stuff to sift through in a way that just wasn't as possible before.

What's worse...the 70s country-pop ballad & stadium power ballad, or 00s crossover hip-pop and alt rock? I think I'd go with the former due to the sheer corny inexpressiveness and asinine adherence to form.

Then again, the 70s definitely had more challenging, groundbreaking groups in a bewildering variety of genres. Both decades coasted on their respective preceding decade, and both ended with abrupt shifts into new aesthetics (punk & disco and indie, respectively).

Still, the rockist conventions of the 70s and the analogue, live-in-the-studio production of even the dance music of the era speak to me far more than the sprightlier, more fragmented and aggressive cutting edge of 00s music.

But ultimately no. The 70's had Alan Parson, Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Steely Dan, Paul Simon+Garfunkel, the list goes on and on. I know there's always been some shit in the chart ('Love Will Keep Us Together' by Captain and Tennile was number 1 in 1975), but I think the ratio to good and bad music being upfront and in the mainstream has shifted dramatically

And in the middle of the decade you had Aerosmith who were a bridge between Zeppelin/Sabbath and the later New Wave era groups. They stuck to the established 70s funk rock riffs, but added some new ideas like the power ballad and Steven Tyler invented a new kind of rock vocal. Nobody before him sounded like that.

Judas Priest in the early days when they sported the standard 70s glam rock wardrobe like every other British group. Although Halford would claim they went to leather because it was more fitting of a metal group, in truth that had as much to do with glam rock going out of style.
