well i have heard some of the post-future crayon stuff, but it's too abstract for me. i preferred their sonic explorations within the pop song structure.

I just happened to like that kind of music anyway so their evolution instantly made sense to me.

I'd say they're about even in terms of album quality. Stereolab has the benefit of having a larger discography and thus more net good stuff.
I have no doubt that Broadcast could have matched that discography had they been allowed to continue, since to me they kept getting better.

Also there are still no news about the new/last album James promised.
