>>886514My city is a capital of one of EU countries, has about 450k people.
I would only build more dedicated, separated bike lanes in places where it actually matters, like in the city center, important business hubs and shopping areas etc, because most bike roads are recreationally focused and on the city outskirts leading to countryside. Bike roads need to be practical more.
Autists will hate me for this, but I would probably get rid of trams. They are loud and slow, old, tracks are expensive to upkeep. I would convert their dedicated corridors to bus and trolley bus lanes.
I would strive for more priority for buses so they dont suffer when daily peak hour congestions start. Fuck motorists, they are the cause of this, they are always alone in the car, merge through 4 lanes when its too late, leave huge gaps between cars and are overall one giant clusterfuck. I wand people that use cars to use them when they really need them, not when they want to go buy something 2 blocks away.
There is only so much you can do with road layout as fucked up as my city.
