So far it's one of the most unreliable urban rail transport mode in Kuala Lumpur (mostly because of long headway and frequent breajkdown. New models (as per picture) are on their way but 10 4-coaches monorail trains seems too few to achieve 5 minutes headway (currently it's about 15~20 minutes headway)

because it's one rail, instead of two. More rails means more stability

more to it is that most trains have two four wheel trucks, monorails are moved by rubber wheels

The only reason they choose monorail its because its cheaper and quicker to build.
All cities are actually made of concrete anyways.

Monorails are good for one specific purpose: Rapid transit on one single route, where the ground doesn't allow for a subway and there isn't enough space on the ground for two-track heavy rail.
Monorail with several lines aren't a thing because switching is so complicated.
The downsides are limited expandability and compatibility with other modes of transport.

Seems to me most monorails are built in shitty and corrupt countries, where the interest was likely on short-term saving by building cheaper than heavy rail elevated metro, and bribes by the company wanting to build the system got them preferred over more standard systems.
The only systems that make sense are either for enclosed areas (theme parks, airports, etc.), and some light-rail lines which as elevated monorail made sense because of lack of space and cheaper cost over elevated standard light rail, without need for connections to other lines, like the one in OPs pic.
Prove me wrong.

That's pretty much what happened in Sydney. The powers that be at the time wanted a monorail over a tram line purely because it was a trendy thing. Of course, the model they decided to buy in the end was only designed for theme parks so it had fuck all capacity on a short loop line. It was pretty much sold to Sydney Simpsons style That and by the end of it all, a ride was $5 a pop regardless of distance, making it more expensive per metre than many first class flights. Oh and it wasn't integrated into the ticketing system despite the tram line being run by the same company being integrated

And in the end, the tram line was built alongside a portion of it anyway until its demise
