Only cyclists claim they are always victims and never do anything wrong. Cagers usually agree that some drivers are assholes and deserve to be punished for violent outbursts. Tbh with the responses in the other thread where cyclists defend smashing windows I don't really care too much about some guy getting punched in one of the most conservative hellholes in the nation.

I think smashing windows is pretty extreme and indefensible but the guy in this article wasn't even riding his bike at the time. The dude that assaulted him pulled up to talk shit, left, then came back and punched him.

I'm pretty new to cycling but I live in Oklahoma City and have been riding to and from work for about five months and I really haven't had problems with drivers despite there being pretty much zero infrastructure for bikes here. If anything it seems most of the drivers here are completely clueless about how to react when there is a bicycle in the street.

I mean, you have people abusing cyclists, assaulting them and raging about them but on the other hand you have some hardcore SJW cyclists like nikoslav calling for the genocide of all cagers.

People need to chill the fuck out. A lot of cyclists own cars, I used to own a car until I moved into the inner city where it became a pointless expense.

Cyclists vs. cagers is proxy class warfare tbh. Since I'm not a wealthy elite who has the luxury, free time, money, and energy devoted to cycling culture I tend to support the working class proletariat who have to work for a living and commute by car.

Pull your head out of your ass, and notice how cities are where most of the middle class jobs are located. Unless you want everyone to be a coal miner, oil rig monkey, or corn farmer, the city is where most people are going to live and work. And in the city, having a personal congestion cage is good for no one except transplanted rustics clinging to a 1950s notion of utopia and living well beyond their means to do so.

But those coal miners, oil workers, and farmers are what make modern cities possible. You need both rural and urban workers for modern civilization to function.

China used to have the most number of utility cyclists in the world, the vast majority of the workers in China owned and used a bicycle. China was once known as zixingche wang guo, the Kingdom of Bicycles, and was considered a must-have item, and the party had a goal of a bicycle for every household.

If you combine Ford and GM's market share in China, the American cars make up the largest portion of purchased cars, followed by VW, then the Japanese (Toyota, Nissan, Honda) and then the combined domestic brands, although Hyundai has very strong sales too.

Sorry, didn't you just get done saying that only coal miners and corn farmers work for a living, not people who live in dense cities and get around on foot, on bike, or by mass transit?

I suppose the reason the bike path is so crowded at 8:30am is because everyone is in a rush to get to Starbucks and hang out on comfy chairs while sipping soy lattes and posting liberal propaganda on the internet.
