Automatic is faster in literally every measurable scenario. End of story. You can't even argue that manual is better because you can keep it in the power band or have control over the gears because now you can just do that with paddles on the automatic.
And there's no fucking way I'm sitting in traffic every day with a manual.

Try putting 500+ WHP in anything shorter than 3.73's

I'd call that TCS and/or big tires. Higher final drive ratio is never good for performance past a certain point, you always want to be geared as short as possible without running out of RPM on straights.

I do believe the final drive on the C6 ZR1 is like 2.9 something or low 3.1 something. Short gears are good for track cars, stuff you really want to run ragged through the RPM range. Hence why the GT350 has a shorter final drive than the Termi, which has a higher final drive cause muh straight line speed. TC only helps so much if you're making so much HP

Axle back is coming, I'm just slow about doing everything. I had the money I needed to afford my car a year before I got it but I'm such a fucking procrastinating fence rider that I take ages to do anything. I actually thought about deleting the suitcases and trying to find a guy who'd pass me but I don't have the balls. I have a friend with a Cummins dodge ram that is straight piped from the turbo back and he knows a guy.

My dealer is pretty cool about my warranty shit. I asked them how far could I push my car before they'd stop warranting it and they said pretty much once you dive into the actual motor. They're fine with anything bolt on, up to and including ported heads and shit. They just won't cover anything with a tune on it essentially or a cam. They'll even cover a supercharger if you buy the 1.9L from GM.

Ford has a separate page for the GT, Chevy only lists 3 versions (Standard, ZL1, Z/28). Didn't go into the build menu so didn't even see it.

In most cars the auto will be faster across the board. Specifically on the GT the auto was faster 0-20, 0-40, 0-60, 0-100, 1/4mi, higher top speed on the 1/4mi, and around a track. Manual GT had the Performance Pack, automatic obviously didn't.

Full disclosure, I may be remembering wrong and one of either the 0-20 or 0-40 (probably the latter) was quicker on the manual, but I'm pretty sure it was across the board.
The driver tried to blame the stiffer back and 3.73 LSD on the manual PP for the worse performance.

Keep in mind the PP has better tires and brakes. Equip those on the automatic or run this test with a non-PP manual and those braking distances where the Manual PP has the biggest advantage disappears and the already [slightly] better performance the automatic has in the other categories gets even wider.

I didn't avoid it, I told you it was bad logic. Those performance trims are geared towards track and enthusiast use, most of which are the same people that refuse to drive anything but a manual.
Those trims are already limited in production, so consolidating the manufacturing process to deal with a single transmission makes more sense from a business standpoint. Combine that with the vast majority of people getting those trims opting for the manual anyway, and it's an even easier decision.

Yep those 5.0s are noisy, my 13 wasn't this bad but made alot more noise than I liked. My ford mechanic/friend said it was normal when you have 15 cams and cam phasers. Muh ls3 runs alot quieter.

It would be one thing if he claimed that the manual typically outperformed the automatics on a track (because there is some contention here), but on a drag strip it's patently false. He also assumes the driver will be perfect on shift points and never miss.
