Gasoline is a solvent and will eventually eat away at your paint no matter how many clear coats you apply.

If you get it anywhere on your paint when you're filling up, don't wait to clean it up.

A lot of pump handles have some "dribble" that doesn't exit the tip of the nozzle when letting go of the lever/trigger.

I always tip the nozzle a little to get the last few drops into the tank and then use one of the paper towels they normally have for the squeegee to catch any of the dribble as I pull out.

Or you could just go full porno style and give your car a money shot.

Also I have two Japanese market vehicles in my yard and one is on driver's side wide the other is on passenger side. Guess what? Never been a single issue.

This is the places that have unsafe systems in place we are talking about.

If you put on your indicator and point to the gas station everyone knows what you want to do. I regular bulldoze my way into blocking the main road so I can back down a drive way or into a lumber yard and that is a normal thing here so I am sure they can handle it too.
