Yeah i've been daily driving it for 25k mile

just the usual stuff concerning the chassis:
strut bars
sway bars
short stroke conversion + coilover sleeves
longer lower control arms
rca
poly bushings
MA61 supra front brakes + SS brake lines

as for the engine:
40mm side draft carbs
286 scheiner cam
doube valve spings
ported and polished head
shaved block
Megajolt ignition
electric fan
electric fuel pump

peak power should be around 7k rpm

but i'm nowhere near that, since a lot of money is involved. but i'll slowly get there

That actually sounds like a nice long term project. The mods seem modest enough that it'd remain a fine daily car from the sounds of it, but you're right on it breaking the bank. Just gotta take that sort of thing in the long term.

Toyota fanboy here. Here is my '87 project and DD. Bought for 600$ about 3 months ago. Drove 600 miles to it and drove it 600 miles back. So far have only had to replace wheelbearing, balljoint, front and rear brakes, and a couple weird misc things. Bought some decent tires from some twacked out dude on craigslist for 20$ and had them mounted today.

Hampton downs, i was just conefagging on the skidpan though. they had motorbikes practicing for the race the next day on the track.

yet to get a good track day in. im going to watch the Japanese Classics racing on in 2 weeks though at the same track. Im thinking of joining the series, but first thing is to see if either of the MR2's are up for it. (both are only making ~150bhp even though its enough to school alot of things on the dirt, some of the Jap Classics guys have thrown alot of money into their cars.

good, a little expensive.
3SGTE is a reliable engine. Easy to make more power with a boost controller.

Swapping the ecu, fuel injectors/rail and turbo from a caldina GT will net you an extra 50 ish bhp.

Beautiful cars, that one for sale is in amazing shape. I love them, it rides like a cloud everywhere you go, every feature you could imagine for the time period. Milage is decent tank is huge, I put $80 mid grade and got 735km out of it. My oil pan is also leaking, and so are my Cam towers and probably a few other places

How difficult is it to fix the cam tower leaks?

The rest im pretty sure i can deal with and fix. Ive already done the timing belt and water pump swap on my truck, luckily since i live in Ca theres barely any rust as long as you stay away from the coast.
