>>13764450Nah man I do the local shit. Just delivering to stores and I'm home every night. Lots of these other dudes do cross-country.
But from everything I hear, it isn't all that exciting. You run on the 14hr clock. 10hrs of driving plus 4hrs for whatever other bullshit you have to deal with at the shipper plus eating and gassing up the truck. After that, you have to find a place to park for the night, shitpost for an hour, and then sleep. It isn't anything crazy.
>>13764509Fuck that. This morning they had 595 closed just East of I-95. And that is the main route to the airport and Port Everglades. Traffic was backed up all across the ramps and not moving an inch.
Then around 3:00pm, I was heading back to the plant on I-95. It is 5 lanes wide, I was in the middle (3rd) lane. All of a sudden, there is a car stopped in the 4th lane, partially in the 3rd lane (where I am). It was some little silver sedan and the hood must have popped open while driving and was bent back straight against the windshield and this fucker stopped right in the middle of I-95 on a Friday afternoon. Traffic was mild but still moving at 60-70mph, and you couldn't see this car until you were right up on it.
I just threw on my hazard lights, slammed on the breaks, and had to swerve a little in the lane to the right so I didn't crush this car or smash somebody trying to swerve around.
Driver was a dumbass. Even with the hood flying open, he/she should've gone to the shoulder. The car probably got smashed like 30 seconds after I passed. I think the driver was still in the car too so maybe they are dead.
