>>13759702My bro has one, he trashed it and modified it. I also knew of a clean stock one belonging to a friend. I've driven both. Maybe it's just because I only know 5 speeds, but I did not like their 6 speed transmissions. I guess it just takes time to get used to. The MSM transmission IIRC is supposed to be the most durable of the first two generations, if you're looking to make power. I recall them being able to handle 250-300 hp. They're pretty sweet rides, I've seen some extremely clean ones with 70k-100k miles on them sale for $7k this year. I fucking wish I could've bought the last example I saw on CL. At that price it's easily worth it. They're actually a bit heavy, weighing around 2500 lbs. Their turbochargers are tiny as fuck and only add about 30 hp from the naturally aspirated engine. The stock intake ducting they have is FUCKING RETARDED and heavy. There are NB engine parts/accessories that won't work with MSMs because of some minor differences. Can't remember what at the moment but yeah, when you go around checking Miata parts sites, you'll see for yourself. I've seen a dozen Velocity Red Mica MSMs, several Titanium Gray MSMs, and only one Lava Orange Mica MSM here in Hawaii. My friend who had an all stock MSM also owned a gray NB on the side - I forgot which trim it was but it had Bilstein shocks, and he said that car was more firmer than his MSM. I don't think my bro's MSM's shocks were that soft, so his probably got swapped out by a previous owner, or maybe they were just fucked. They come with 17x7 (too big IMO but at stock height, it looks alright) Racing Hart wheels that weigh like 18 lbs, and stiffer sway bars so there's less body roll compared to the other NBs.
>/g/Wait what the fuck? Also holy shit OP your picture sucks.
