I may be getting a new car soon and am interested in getting a cheap hatchback and turning it into a rally car. What are some of the best cheap cars to do this with? I'm thinking maybe like a vw golf or ford focus, right?
Okay Chevy guys I am I need of some help. I was looking up the size of my rear end axle, when I go to look at the code list in my glove box the damn sticker is gone. I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT 5.3 Texas edition. I need to know my axle size and If I have posi trac.
/o/, I have a very good dilemma and need advice; I'm going to be driving 2 QT 3D grills on friday to toronto, which will be about an hour drive, and I have the following options:
1. Take my shitbox WRX winter beater 2. Take my dad's c300.
which one will help me impress them more? It might seem obvious, but the reason I'm thinking of taking the shitbox is because not alot of guys my age have their own cars, and driving my dad's car seems really pretentious.
I think they might be impressed by the fact that I own a car at all if I pick them up in my own car as opposed to my dads car.
but at the same time, as much as I want to show off my car, my dad's car is much more comfortable and roomy, and I don't want them feeling like shit once we get to toronto...
So I have an issue finding what company this auto start kit came from. All I have is the key fob for it and the parts in the car. It was already in the car when I bought it. Do any of you know what company it's from?
Okay, I have a mechanical engineering degree, but experience trumps all, so I'm fishing to see if anyone is experienced in this and if they can offer insight.
I was driving my '95 miata at night and went through the manned gate of my parents' neighborhood. Being a nice guy, and not wanting to blind the guard, I put my headlamps down. As I passed the gate I put them up - but only the passenger side one went up and the other stayed down and the headlight malfunction light illuminated on the dash. The light stayed on even when I shut down and left the car and it drained my battery.
I recharged the battery, but the light came back and the driver's headlight wouldn't come up (it oddly did one random time but that's it), but the headlight still turns on. After a while I looked underhood and noticed that the retractor motor for the malfunctioning one was very hot, while the working one was cold. I checked the retractor fuse and (obviously, because one worked) it was fine.
I simply think the retractor motor is somehow shot and I should replace it. But, my parents are both pilots of 35+ years each, and pilots are trained on troubleshooting systems, and they think there is something faulty electrically between the switch and the motor. I want another opinion before I go out and buy another retractor motor.
So, what do y'all think? Do any of you have experience with this?
>Guy in front of me stops to turn without using turn signal >I look down to change heater a second before >look up and see he's completely stopped >slam on brakes and turn right to try to avoid him >wet roads because northwest
pic related. He had no insurance and I just have liability. Decided not to report to insurance since I have no proof he didn't signal until he was stopped.
Guys I am seriously broken over this. I fucking love my little Celica. I bought it for $2400 in late august. Went to a few autobody shops, got a wide range of estimates. Most tried to fuck me because I'm paying out of pocket. Larger, more popular ones said to trash or part out the car and buy a new one. A couple Russian shops are giving me deals because my brother in law is a friend. So far I have an offer for $500 but he can't do it for another month. Really sketched out by the low price. Other one said $1400 if I supply the parts.
Should I do it? How fucked am I? Its a 1990 Celica GT. I'm a college student working a minimum wage job. I will have to use my very limited savings to pay for this or a new car.
