VQ's were introduced with the 350z in 2002

The Nissan V6's used in the 90's were the VG series originating in the 80's, As in the 300ZX, Frontier/Xterra/Pathfinder motors.

That won't happen because the only people in the USA who desperately want a lean & mean roadster are fagg/o/ts(or similar). All the other people just want a 4 door go-machine that they can listen to music in.

When I got to drive the orange prototype, I asked Jerome Vassilo of Elio about that. The most common two-vehicle crash is left headlight-to-left headlight, which in the Elio's case rips off the left wheel. It could leave the car sitting in a way where the only door won't open.

He said the right side window is designed large enough to be an emergency exit, and they're talking about a pop-out sunroof/back windows option for faster emergency exits.

I think the 928 looks better, but I feel well maintained ones will be impossible to find at a price where i wouldn't rather just buy a 968. I can still find sub 60k 944s, though

Saying this as a Boxster owner, I would honestly just get an FC RX7 if I were in that position. They're similar cars to the 944s buy aren't as problematic as one would think.
They don't have the heat and oil issues of FDs and RX8s as well

Boxsters are legitimately good cars - miles ahead of any miata - but the cost of ownership is what keeps them from reaching the same legendary status. Well, that and the fact that the miata has a low bar to reach, whereas the bar is fucking a sky-high for the boxster due to the 911 legacy.

Head gaskets and tires are the 2 killer issues. These cars chew through tires since they come with like -2 of camber from the factory and that they're staggered.
And if you're buying a higher mileage car, you're gonna have to deal with changing out the head gaskets, which requires dropping the engine.
Other stuff like the water pump was surprisingly easy, $100 and a couple hours. There's an access panel behind the seats.

But yeah, the car's biggest problem is that the 911 exists. At least now the new Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder are out shining lower end Carreras.
