Woes of a cheapfag - do I buy a new car?

So I went from being a poorfag to a cheapfag when it came to cars. Growing up in a poor family, I basically got a string of sub-$1000 rusty piece-of-shit cars starting when I was 18 or 19 years old. I had a free hand-me-down 1991 Dodge Spirit with a rusted-off muffler, a $600 1996 Ford Contour, etc etc… Eventually I bought an Oldsmobile Alero for $4000 which lasted me a good seven or eight years. This year, I bought a $3400 2007 Chevrolet Impala. It’s not doing so well, and the “brand new paint job” the guy did before selling it is peeling off because he did such a poor job on it, and it's consuming about a quart of oil every three or four months. I'm starting to feel some play in the steering, and my wheel has gone out of balance a couple times now. I am no longer a poorfag, but I am still buying cheap used cars all the time out of habit and due to my cheapness. My coworkers all buy new cars and keep pressuring me to finance a new car so it's more reliable and less of a time-eater.

Does /o/ buy new or used? The cheapest new car I can find is the Nissan Versa Sedan, but it looks lame. All the cheap new cars look lame. I have 200+ horsepower right now, and if I buy a cheapy new car I am going to end up with something weak and boring.

What do?
