The WRX is a completely different car than the BRZ. It sits high and truck-like compared to the low and sporty BRZ. It's a hopped-up economy car. It's more practical because it's an AWD sedan and much faster but it feels way different to drive than the BRZ, which is more about "muh feels" and is arguably more fun to drive. But that's subjective. To me the WRX is more logical but I'd rather have the BRZ.
Anyway, supercharge your BRZ. I'd recommend the Edelbrock twin-screw. The Vortech and Jackson Racing centrifugals are good too.
Superchargers are good because they're simple and easier to install than a turbo. Plus they're more responsive, which is important for this type of car.
Turbos are good because they're more efficient than superchargers and have a higher power potential if you upgrade them further. But for the BRZ I'd recommend a supercharger because the car doesn't need much more power to be plenty fast. Plus it provides all the boost that the engine can take without an expensive rebuild anyway, so a turbo only makes sense if you're planning on spending a whole lot of money on the car. There's a reason why aftermarket superchargers are such a big hit for this car. Just upgrade the headers (unless you live in CA) and exhaust, buy and install a quality supercharger kit, then call it a day for power mods. Don't forget other upgrades such as brakes, tires, oil cooler, short shift kit, suspension bits, etc. Brakes and oil cooler should be done before using forced induction.
