Prefer for the comfort/size of the M5. What do you mean by not particularly great? Reliability, or just that it's a bit bland?

It was awesome when it first debuted but,

The 2nd gen CTS-V that came out in 09 was out performing it by then.

If you're just looking for comfort and size, why not just look for a 550i and deal with less headache?

Logically speaking you're absolutely right. Also, I've looked at the CTS-V, and I am considering that also. I think the CTS-V would be a better option in terms of up keep. I guess the M5 is a thriller because of the name, although it isn't much different than a 550i.
