They lack hp at higher highway speeds. 130km/hr and over is a chore. They are tough. Nothing really goes wrong with them. +400km on a tank of fuel.

So guys, legit thing I wanna talk about.

Last year in January, the fuzz came and pulled me over for Papa Willies.

What happened was I was able to appeal for two years of 'diversionary' which is a third party probation. I've completed the first year and my 'diversionary' counselor is recommending that they drop the charges because I'm in complete compliance with my obligations ("rehabilitation").

So anyway a year later I'm posting here on the night before my hopefully last court date before it's all done and over with and I'm off the hook and I have a question for /dbt/:

Should I ride to court and walk in to see the judge wearing all of my gear, even my Jake TGS shirt?

Howdy guys, so I noticed that the new indian scout is kind of being marketed as a bike for newer riders, is this true? The displacement is north of 1 liter so I imagine they're just trying to appeal to a different market than Harley, it also weighs north of 500 lbs. is this all bullshit (being a good bike for new guys) or is there something to it? I'd love to buy an american bike that actually doesn't look like shit and has been recently designed.

well, it's forward foot controls, so I don't know how you'd like that. It's a water cooled V-twin putting out 100 hp, different than Harley V-twins, less low end torque but higher revs. I've heard good things and bad things, front end suspension is jelly and doesn't really match up with rear suspension, and doesn't really have low end torque, so if you find yourself in the wrong gear, you'll have to fix yourself. I'd say it has potential, but it all really depends on what you like. I don't know about good first bike, but then, mine was a 1200 sportster.

yeah, I'd probably go with slightly longer pipes for that, shotgun pipes making a straight line for the aft end of the bike. I'd probably put half a rear fender on it and a sissy bar too, I like to lash luggage to the sissy bar. Probably some higher bars too.

Fun, commuting, exploring some of the Ranch/Farm to Market roads that are pretty beat to hell by oilfield trucks and neglect.

I'd be nice if it could make a 200mi-300mi interstate trip but that seems like asking alot from it.

Don't worry so much about who wins the most races. You're not going to buy the bike that wins all the races. You're going to buy the street version of the bike that wins some of the races.
Just go with anything Japanese. For the money you'll spend on a sport bike, a Japanese one will probably be the best.
If money's not a problem, then Europe becomes an option. BMW and Aprilia have some good bikes.

I fucking HATE snowbirds. Damn near rearended one just 10 minutes ago a few blocks away from home.

It was pretty dang close, still had time to brake decently hard and avoid rear ending them but DAMN I really hate snowbirds sometimes. What's worse is my ActionCam was dead a few minutes later when I pulled in so I'm not even sure if I recorded it. So would of helped if I was in an accident.

These idiots + snowbirds around here are gonna turn me into someone that makes Snowcat look like a damn saint.

No its still a piece of shit, but I picked it up for $60 because it didn't run, brakes were total shit, wiring was a rats nest, lights didn't work, and the exhaust was the shittiest thing I've ever seen, among other things I can't really remember by now. The exhaust is made of some rusty 4-1 headers and a Yamaha muffler that the white trash wigger I bought it from had just riveted together. Anyway it's now, mechanically at least, way better than it was. It's rideable, I might even say safe but I broke my wrist on it earlier this year so maybe not lol. I can't make as much progress as I'd like because I get paid $10 an hour and have bills to pay.
