When the temperatures start creeping towards freezing they'll go stone hard. They also have very little siping, which is a huge negative for driving in the winter time
They do not perform at all on hard-packed snow or ice, and the only area they're decent would be digging through deep, heavy snow at a crawling pace
So unless you're living somewhere the winters are mild to a degree where you never see ice then these aren't tires I would recommend. We have an old HiLux at work that had these tires as summer tires, and just for fun we got them properly siped and put a few studs in them, and the resulsts were not surprising; still had absolutely no traction in actual winter conditions
