Quality of life so far. Radiator + fans, coolant hoses, better oil lines,axles and have have you. Just getting it back to good running state before I do anything to it.

Intake and exhaust are high up on the list. Cylinder heads, LT headers, H-Pipe, manifold, camshaft, the usual. Possibly a vortech at some point, but I am not counting on it. The immediate future include an EGR valve to get rid of my check engine light and ultra clear headlights.

>What I did for the weekend
Oil change and tires

Traded it for a 2000 focus. Pretty happy with it. Have about 1000 into it in general repairs.

I had the guy send me pics of the paint and hes not lying the chrome decal fucked up the paint pretty bad, no clearcoat. But the fact that its semi low milage and been restored to stock makes it appealing to me.

Just fixed and painted the rear speaker covers on my 90 GT. The covers were completely fucked. Because it's a 90+ convertible, the speaker covers it has were only used for 3 years and fucking impossible to find.

Probably a Mercury Capri, those had the bubble rear glass. Possibly a Stang with a Capri hatch. Or if it had a Stang nose, a Capri with a front fascia swap.

Personally, I love the Capri front end, but hate the bubble glass.

I've got a lame Automatic "Vanilla Ice" edition 90 GT Convertible lol.

Just look for used Capri parts online. That might be an ASC bumper skin, so it could be hard to come by. I'm not really too familiar with the Capris, so I couldn't tell you for sure. I know the 4 eye Stang bumper skins for the McLaren and Pace Car (pic relate) look similar and are rather hard to come by. I prefer the skins that drip straight down and don't slant back under the car.

Price seems too good to be true for a blown 5 speed.

The way he talks about the engine and transmission leads me to believe it needs more than a little work. Still though... at that price you could part it out and get your money back and then some if it turns out to be a shitheap mechanically.

Also, it looks freshly painted and it's on the East Coast. Check it out very thoroughly for rust or patched up rust damage.

Hatch, wheel arches, anywhere anything is mounted to the chassis, anywhere water could collect. But like I said, the car has a pretty new looking paintjob, so former rust damage could be concealed. Look for hairline cracks, tap around the car with your fingernail. If you know anyone with a decent paint meter gauge, borrow it. I don't really trust the cheap ones and I doubt you want to drop $600 on one for a $2500 you might not end up buying.

I would try to find an 86 if you like four eyes. They have 8.8 rearends, fuel injection, and hydrolic roller cams. The fuel injected roller cams have a HUGE after market compared to the previous design

Either would be ready to go but I'd gradually build up the Mustang if I went that route. I'd have to save up for the C5.
After I sell my M3 and pay my dad back the $1k he generously loaned me, I should have about $9k in the bank. I might spend $1k of that on a Saiga 12 and possibly another $3k on a Virago 535. If that happens then I'll just save the remaining $5k in case I get laid off or something. But if I don't buy a bike then I'm considering buying a cheap second car to race and gradually build.
Idk, I shouldn't even be thinking about this until I finish college, start a career and buy a house.

Hey guys I bought one of these almost a month ago and recently sometimes when coming out of a cold start it will shut off after a few seconds, but I can fire it back on and it'll stay on no problem.

Since obtaining it I've fixed a bad fuel pump relay and leaking heater core outlet hose. Just in case anything might be related.

This is actually my first car and I don't know much quite yet.

yes, I agree that your personal preferences might allow you to place a premium on a fox, but what I'm saying is that you should recognize that you're paying more for instant gratification than you are for a car, because you should be able to find a similar fox for cheaper.

Hey there guys, just bought this shitbox and somebody pointed me to this thread. LX, 5.0, auto.

The P.O. was a mechanic and very honest with the issues it has. One of which is spongey breaks.

For example, when coming to a stop from 25mph it stops fine, and then as I slow down more and more the brake pedal sinks to the floor. Eventually I'll be at a dead stop and just slightly rolling forward with my foot on the floor. I'm thinking master or slave cylinder. Anybody run into the same issue?

Fluid level is fine. That was the first thing I checked. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they just need to be bled. I'm gonna inspect the slave and master cylinders when I get home and if they aren't obviously in bad shape I'm gonna bleed them.

My wagon has spongy brakes that wont go away. Try replacing the soft lines on the front calipers if bleeding doesnt help, they can collapse and cause issues.

Master cylinder. The seals inside have hardened and allow fluid past when the internal pressures drop a bit. Happens all the time. Booster's probably full of fluid now too. Be sure to bench bleed the replacement master. And when you think you've bled it enough, do it some more. Same with the brake lines.
