>>13738761For the same price as one of those 4 bangers, you can get a solid V6 in a Genesis Coupe, in any of the editions they offer (Track, R-Spec, Base).
My 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe packs a V6 and stock dyno'd at 280hp/260tq
After a handful of mods, including replacing a grenaded clutch I'm dyno'd at 370hp/365tq.
And it's still N/A.
So from the beginning cost wise you can get a much better car in all aspects of performance, handling, and value. Why pick up a BRZ or FRS, when I still have plenty of play room in the N/A side of things to trump any N/A BRZ or FRS.
"Yeah but boost bro"
Cost to boost is the same for kits or DIY.
Boost performance on a 3.8L GenCoupe, 1psi:1psi, the 3.8L wins.
To fully build a BRZ/FRS, you'll get farther and faster with a GenCoupe. As far as internals go, I don't know what exactly is available for the BRZ/FRS however you can opt into a 4.2L Stroker kit in the GenCoupe, paired with the low compression and built internals on boost... No FRS/BRZ will hold up. Not even close. It's potential isn't enough to justify a purchase when I'm already balls deep in an equally valued car, that has much more capability.
Also the BRZ/FRS looks like you're still stuck in your best highschool years, like you're a spoiled senior reliving the dream.
The GenCoupe looks like you've always got 8-balls on deck.
Take your pick. At least in the GenCoupe you can outrun your standard police vehicles.
