hey /o I'm getting my first car real soon and im not sure what to get, what i want is a 4 cylinder coupe, I have $30 000 AUD to spend on it. i was looking at a toyota 86 and a subaru DRZ but i though i would ask /o for any more recommendations

not really. you wont really ever feel the difference if you just drive it around like you would a car, day to day.

the stiffer front springs on the subaru makes the cars handling more neutral. while the GT86 lets you slide about a little bit easier.

get whichever with the bumper and badge you like the most. the GT86 is also usually cheaper since it doesn't necessarily have all the optional extras the BRZ has standard.

Not to hijack OP's thread, but I have been thinking of getting a toyburu. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling over the next few years and just found out the back seat fold flat in these things. Would it be possible to sleep in one of these things with lets say my legfs in the trunk and head on the back seat? Any cash I can save on hotels mean more cash to travel and do things.

I had to one night when my neighbors decided to be assholes and make awful loud sex sounds until 9 in the morning.

got my sleeping bag, stuffed my head first into the boot and had my legs between the front seats.

worst night of sleep i had in 6 years that.

I got an employee discount so I paid 25,000 drive away for base manual edition.

20% off so I got about $8500 off

I'm selling my 2015 soon and upgrading to the 2016 and get the discount again so I don't lose much value

Nigger the point of manual is that it lets you use all the power as best as you can. The Toyobaru needs to be kept in the power, and that's way nicer to do with a manual, not to mention less drivetrain loss.

I don't own the car but I've driven both the auto and the manual. The auto isn't as bad as everyone says if you put it in sports mode with paddles its pretty fucking close to the manual. The auto gets better has mileage and would be an easier daily. Most people can't drive well enough to get everything out of the manual and would end up being slower anyways. Auto is also going to be cheaper used since there is more of them (at least in the US) and they are less in demand. It's more expensive new though. Op can drive both and see what he wants.
