Pros and cons of adding to oil

I own a 2005 F150 and it seems her performance has gone up a tad since I started using Marvel Mystery oil every change (changing the filter and oil every 2000 miles)
What are the pros and cons of using MMO?
Also, every 4 months I run a bottle through the fuel when the tank is full, than I run her dry.

Royal purple seems to give the best results.

I used 10w-30, and it will last longer, stay with the Motorcraft filters cheaper and essentially on par with K&N Filters.

the 4.6L is a bullet proof engine, it likes to swim on heavier oil when put on F-150's and crown vics.

I swear by this stuff. My 98 Dakota R/T was having massive fuel injection problems and wouldn't keep a steady idle for more than 2-3 minutes. I cleaned the throttle body, changed out god knows how many sensors. Finally, decided to run a quart of this stuff through it along with the oil change and bam, idle issue gone.

Running it once or twice through the engine is good enough. No sense in doing it every single oil change, use high quality motor oil instead. Thinner oil helps performance but most likely is increasing the wear and tear. Putting it through the fuel is ok, I don't think you need to pour an entire bottle down it, follow the instructions.

I use that oil when i start old engines that have not run in 5+ years
i put a squirt in every cylinder to break up any rust ex.
i would not add it to my oil in any modern car

MMO and Seafoam are two of the scant few additives that actually work

MMO is 1/4 white spirit so it's so good at cleaning deposits that overusing it can cause oil leaks. It cleans out all the buildup that has covered up the holes from metal on metal wear.

If you have a newer car(last decade) you don't need to add shit. There is not going to be enough buildup of anything. Now, if you have a 20 year old car that has sit out exposed to the elements for a while you might be in need of some of these products.

I was cleaning an ATV carb that had sat up for years and years. After I got done spraying it down and wiping it out, my brother in law said soak the needle seat, float etc. in Seafoam for half an hour. Everything that was left on just wiped off with a q-tip

k, here's my question to the masters of /o/:
my manual says to do an oil change every 7,500 miles, but it was also made over 30 years ago...should I be following the advice, or every 3-5k? Engine seems pretty solid for its ago tho.

Oil has only improved in the past 30 years, so you would probably be fine going even more than 7.5k, but given the age you might want to play it safe and change the oil somewhere between 5k and 7.5l

She's been sitting for an undetermined amount of time. I think I'll change it every 3k for a couple times to make sure she's getting cleaned out, then switch to 5k and see how she handles that. If it's good after the second 5k, I'll go to the manual's recommendations.

I'll be seafoamin' the engine 100 miles before each oil change too.

idk about passing up a car. I'm not so poor that I can't order one online. I got a reprint from rockauto on my 84 rampage. Shit was cheap. I also bought the service manuals off ebay. One of these days I plan on getting a scanner so I can back the books up and post them somewhere for other people. It covers the l, g, and k vehicles...maybe some more.
