or i gather that you are on a tight arse budget? is your motor the early 302 or late?
the some of the early stuff does not intertchange with the later stuff (eg water pumps)
if you have a early 302 buy a later model one (up to 93?) and everything is availible.
what trans are you using? idiots will say the T5 manual will handle the power. but there are 15 different versions of the t5 gearbox... and they are all road gear boxes a tremec tr550 is a road race gearbox and is basically a ford top loader with overdrive and you cant kill those in a hurry.
as for automatic a C4 is fine but if you want super high horsepower you will have to look at either a stall converter or a C6 ridgeback (big block trans)
a 9 inch diff will be fine. or a mustang 8.8 with upgraded internals
why have i mentioned the drivetrain first? because you can always build a engine...
the cheapest way to make power in a 302 is if you do it in stages.
first does your car have injection or carby?
if it has injection the most expensive bit is aftermarket computer. the reason is ford didnt want you to play with its engine so the computer goes into hissy fit mode if you so much as change anything more than factory settings
id do a stroker 347 or 363 kit. so you only have to do the bottom end (rotating assembly) ONCE
then a good cam and aftermarket heads and lastly the carby (injection) upgrades and headers and free flowing exhaust
thats a pretty good for a N/A set-up or save up and drop the compression and weiand 6/71 supercharge it!
turbos are too DIY and will take you too long to get the set up right. dont beleive the ebay bullshit there is no universal fit kit for it. because the turbos are made from weak chinese materials and you will ruin your engine if you try to use them.
