Last time I posted here, made myself look like a dumbass saying that there was such thing as a V4 engine lol whoops

Anyway got done rebuilding my rangerlike 2 weeks ago, after I got into an accident in June. Still have to replace the fan and motor mounts, and sometimes the it stays at 2500 or 3000 RPMS without my foot being on the throttle. Usually happens on startup and right after I floor it. Any ideas?

5-Speed, Extended Cab 1991 Ford Ranger, 3.0 V6.

Also the 3.0 is garbage
It almost makes less power than the 4 cyl iirc

Also check the IAC valve, clean or replace
Probably would wanna do temp sensors if applicable too

If carbed, clean carb and vac lines and shit.

When I was looking at the IAC it worked perfectly fine. There's two vacuum tubes attached to the air filter housing, but there's another smaller vacuum hose. Not sure where that one goes.

is the throttle cable sticking?
when the engine stays at high rpm is the gas pedal stuck down?
does stabbing the gas pedal get it to idle down?
engine ground strap ok?

you have to drill off the inner fenders from a junkyard truck, drill off the damaged inner fenders on your truck, then weld the junkyard-truck's inner fenders onto yours. You're also probably going to have to replace the radiator support. And when you weld everything back together, you're gonna want to take measurements and make sure everything lines up.

Cab was pushed off its mounts to the right a little bit, so that threw all the measurements off. Gotta tear it all apart again to realign everything. Not gonna do that just yet m8.

Check your intake downstream of the airflow meter as well. That is also a leak.

I had a massive crack on my flex joint on the underside of mine for months while struggling to track down a high idle issue and never though to check it.

Common sense to measure before you weld.

Also I've got about 364,300+ miles on it. I usually get about 21 mpg. Anyway, I had to reinforce the hangers that the radiator support sits on. Used spacers on the hinges of the passenger side door to get it to open and close properly.

The fan still needs to be replaced since it's bent/cracked. Have to use a pneumatic chisel with a punch instead of the chisel (obviously). Tried to use the special fan clutch removal tools, but there's no 4 bolts for the second wrench to hold onto to keep all the pulleys/belts from moving.

Check the throttle body return spring and the little plastic guide that it covers. I've seen multiple Vulcans with sticking throttles because of it hanging up. Sometimes you can fix it with a little bit of silicon lubricant other times you'll have to pull a new on off a junk yard truck .
