If you keep the speed up it's not a problem. See
http://www.caranddriver.com/features/chevrolet-corvette-z06-at-lightning-lap-2015-feature ... put it on a track with high enough average speeds and it stays cool, even at 100º ambient temperature. If you're constantly powering out of 45 mph corners in 1st gear, though, you're fucked in any weather.
I doubt it'll be recalled, but the aftermarket will probably come out with a cooling solution eventually.
But you should just buy the last gen corvette anyway. They're bulletproof and unstoppable. Don't buy into the hype that you always have to have the latest version of everything. Are you really going to miss that extra 8 seconds of lap time anyway? No, no you're not.
