I have an st165.
Good car. Ugly tho. Never get stuck in snow, pull people out of ditches.

Evo. Of the 9 podium positions at nationals this year, 5 of them--including all three 1st places--were Evo's.

Toss up between a newer Fiesta and Mk.3 Golf. Both have endless aftermarket support, short wheelbase, and the best suspension setup. A Mk.3 GTI in our region sets the overall fastest times of every car at nearly every event.
>RWD
Miata's seem to win wherever they compete, so I'd say those. Runner up would be an MR2

In some technical ways yes, but you'll be hard pressed to find a rallycross event where a Miata competed and didn't win or at least closely contest the top of the podium. Front McPherson struts show their rally magic mainly when the wheels are driven, since their ability to have longer travel gives the driven wheels a higher chance of staying in contact with the ground while going through uneven surfaces or over bumps/jumps. Since RWD rally/rallycross relies heavily on throttle steering instead of traditional steering, there's not a whole lot of time to be lost by lifting the front wheels. That being said, McPherson is still the superior setup for stage rally in any drivetrain because of their ease of maintenance and being naturally more robust.

ive been challenged by a few MX5's but i have never seen an MX5 anywhere near a podium. not even in its class.

Was the fastest rally car in the world at it's time, the Europeans arbitrarily deducted points to keep it out of 1st place then banned it outright the next year for having the wrong type of filaments in the headlights. Had the Europeans not whined it to death and Ford continued to campaign the Falcon it would have won every stage in every race until they stopped making them.

sorry to break it to you, but that just has a stone age vicious coupling which most AWD cars from the late 80s/early 90s had, the only thing that really set it apart was the stock height
