You're driving a manual and you see this goddamned bullshit in your way. Now, in most circumstances I'd be in high second or low-ish third because I tend to come across these after a left turn. The gear you're in is mostly irrelevant though.
The question is, you know the light is going to turn green just before you actually stop and right at the bottom of second gear. Assuming you're not going to be le edgy and blow the lights completely, What do you do?
Slow to near stop in neutral, then hit first knowing you're a bit high on MPH?
Ride that 2nd gear the entire time and probably lug the motor?
I tend to shift to third because my car is annoying at +3k, then get in neutral and slow while eyeing the light for my chance to quick jump into second
