I usually bring the mtech, the multitool, and a folding edc knife, as well as a hatched. the mtech might be a little too heavy duty, but I do really enjoy using it, it works well for fileting fish, skinning animals, cutting wood. It supplements my hatchet really well, and the sheath fits onto my molle backpack really nicely. For trail hiking I usually just bring my folding edc.
