Yeah, I've met several. They're self-absorbed and emotionally stunted and have no idea what being a grown man is actually about. They're thin-skinned, pissy and throw tantrums at any disagreement. They assume they're more valuable to society than they actually are. They do just enough to get by and expect everyone to applaud them for it and if nobody does they threaten to take their ball and go home (i.e. "I'm gonna go live in the woods and you'll miss me when I'm home!).

I grew up on the Midwest, among farmers, miners, and other men who actually contribute to society. Do you what we called guys who call themselves MGTOW these days? Cry-babies.

I think the first one I met was Emerald City Comicon. I don't remember a whole lot about him other than he didn't look like he exercised much, he smelled kinda bad and he complained a lot about "poser" nerd girls. The others I mostly met through gamer/comics friends and acquaintances. I didn't dedicate a whole lot of mental bandwidth on them because they were pretty uninteresting people.

BUT, don't rush it just because you set a timetable for yourself, wait til you're really ready. we had a ton of fun before we had him-traveled the world, asia, europe, crazy sierra adventures, rock climbing trips...

we still do tons of fun stuff (he's 9 months old, and i've already forgotten how many times he's been to yosemite-spent last weekend in the backcountry of tuolumne), but shit changes for sure.

of course, once he's big enough to belay...aw, shit, game on, son!
