As long as you have the disposition, there isn't really a better decision you could make than to leave everything behind and travel with nothing for a while in my opinion. It's modern day adventuring, hopping trains while hiding from the bulls, getting on a hobo bus with a bunch of random drunks to help make it go wherever people want it to go, going wherever you feel like going whenever you feel like going there, getting knives pulled on you, getting caught in the rain so terribly that everything you own gets so wet that it might as well have been dropped in a pond, exciting and building experiences, the good and the bad.
It's a little dangerous and there's a lot of learning experiences you inevitably go through(getting scammed, getting stuck, ending up in the back of a cop car, being hungry etc.), but having things like that happen to you helps you understand and recognize problem situations and better solve them in the future. I could go on for awhile, basically, if you're able to talk to people half decently and are non-confrontational, and are also confident in your ability to not die, there isn't anything better you could be doing as a 18-26 year old than spending a year or two on the road in my opinion.
In the very least all of the crazy stories you end up with(all the dirty kids have crazy stories, I have shitloads) can help you impress women and make friends in the future.
