I take a couple out when on a day hike, they have their own packaging, you don't have to worry about taking home the wrapper, plenty of protein and other good things. God tier /out/ food

This is literally what I do.
Add a sack of flour, a sack of lentils, rice and beans and you can make it through the winter with ease, if you have enough vit c tablets.
