Yes, I usually hit up the DIY shop and get some extra hooks or velcro, some cool patches and sew them on my backpacks. Since they usually are missing a key feature like a simple carbine to lock my house keys on inside my pack, etc.
Simple sewing mod, and done.

I put about a meter of duct tape around all of my nalgene bottles in case I need some duct tape in a pinch while /out/

maybe make an overstrike guard for the hatchet?
i know you're probably more careful than me, but this is the most common handle damage i see

maybe attach something bright (fluorescent ziptie?) to the axe sheath so you don't lose it when you set it down?

wrap duct-tape around the nalgene for /out/ use, turning it into a spool.
while you're at it, maybe do the same with some fishing line

tape/tie a striker/lighter to the sheath of whichever knife you bring out most

maybe make a handloop/guard for that bushlore so there's no hand slippage in stabby moments (never had one yet, but always worried about it)

I think I have some stick tang knives, for sure hidden tang. Hilariously, one of my least suited /out/ knives is a Swamp Rat something or other, made of big heavy stock for ultimate super abuse toughness, but also with a hidden tang for some unknown reason.

In any case the most useful /out/ knives I have are made by Gene Ingram and are full tang.

Wrap some fishing line around the bottle. You can use it as a reel and catch fish without having to carry a rod. You can probably combine it with the duct tape.
Add a lanyard to the hatchet. Choose a bright, unnatural color, so it doesn't get lost if you just put it down somewhere.
As for the Bushlore, this isn't really a mod, but I bought a blank and wrapped the handle with paracord. I wouldn't remove the wood from a complete one unless it was really fucked up, but it's something to think about.

I am about to sew and outside loop on my kifaru sawtooth so I can eliminate the small internal pole and just use a trekking pole. Should also make for more useful space since I won't need to worry about hitting that little pole.

Kind of worried I will screw it up and I can't afford to replace the tent. Guessing I can just hand sew a loop of webbing through to the cordura pole pocket. Shouldn't be hard.
