>>614875I doubt you'd be doing any whitewater anon. You will likely be in 15+ ft long boats strapped with gear unless they do resupply stops.
How to prepare for this?
1) What makes or breaks these trips are group dynamics. Make sure that your completely ok with spending 2+ weeks non stop with the people your inviting. Are they ok under pressure or in a clutch situation? Are they a good problem solver? Are they cool if you dont talk and just paddle for 4 straight hours or are they the kind of people who need constant conversation? Have they done long extended outdoor trips before? etc, etc,
2) This sounds like a guided trip which is awesome. The kind where they get up before you do to make breakfast so its hot by the time you wake up and while your eating they do dishes and pack up. The kind of thing where all you do is paddle and chat. In that case prepare to tip them big. Like $400+ at least. Optional, of course, but if this sounds like I think it does then they will be tending to your every need for 40 days.
3)Bring 4-5 layered outfits and 2 types of shoes. Boots and something you can wear in and out of the boat like water shoes or chacos.
4)Pack smart and pack in dry bags. Ask your guide what are the best things to bring and what you should probably leave at home. They probably have dry bags for you to use as well.
5) Dont get too drunk around the campfire.
6) Just make sure your body is in the right condition to 1,000+ miles of paddling. You will most likely be on a loose time schedule for most of the trip but you dont want to be "that guy" slowing everyone down.
7)Have fun and relax, brah.
