Any sc/out/s have any experience or experiences with Falconry

I think it's fascinating but don't know a whole lot about it.

Falconry is a massive fucking commitment. If you plan on having a normal 9-5 job then forget it. You have to hunt the birds in Fall/Winter for up to 5 hours EVERY DAY. And they can only hunt during daylight hours, which means if you don't get home from work until 5-6pm then birdy doesn't get to hunt.

Also, you have to find a licensed falconer to take you as an apprentice and you have to study under them for a certain number of years before you can also get a license.

Also also, you have to have something called a "mews" which is an outdoor aviary for the bird. You have to have one of those built BEFORE someone from your state's Fish & Game dept. inspects your property to assess its suitability for a bird of prey.

it's been a while since I did my research and I know there are many, many more pains in the ass that I am forgetting.

tl;dr I am not exaggerating one bit when I say that Falconry is literally a lifestyle, not a hobby.

I had no clue. It definitely sounds like a commitment.
Maybe I will raise my future son to be a falconer.
