How about... Glacier NP!

I spent a few very memorable fall days there. Never had so many unsettlingly close encounters with large ungulates before or since.

Been working through White Mountain National Forest on weekends since moving to Massachusetts.

Made the mistake of going there on Columbus day. It was like fucking disneyland in the mountains. I almost ran over several asians walking into the highway to take selfies.

I'm from the south, and I had never been in proper evergreen forests. There are long sections of trail that smell like Christmas and the trees are so dense that you can't see through them, so it'll be like 5 miles of 25 foot high walls of pine trees

Going to Zion in the summer is great. There are less people so its possible to get a campground in the southern canyon and the heat encourages you to spend your nights looking at the stars and wake up early to escape the heat. Zion is best park

the amount of people there turned it off for me, getting a campsite is near impossible and traffic is disgusting. The best time was when i was on one of the back trails away from the clusterfuck of tourists

Big Bend is cool. I went in June and it was hot at lower altitudes but nice in the mountains. I got to cross into Boquillas, Mexico even though that place is a dump

Jasper National Park in Canada is my closest National Park. Well technically Elk Island is. If you're into pure wild Buffalo that is a nice place. But Jasper is more beautiful.

Spent last week down in Halape. (pic related)

I grew up a couple hours from Grand Canyon, so it prolly takes the cake over Volcano, way more back country options in the GC.

That's very pretty. I want to like it more than I do, but have a substantial aversion to tropical climates. The blue water, the verdant clime, all nice, but difficult in application. Damn practicality.

Fortunately ice and stone and sky so close it seems you can touch it is fine too.

Just spent the last two days in Acadia. Weather is shit today. Nice place and not too crowded. Pic is from the Beehive.

Overall Yellowstone/Grand Teton is god tier.

Merritt island national wetlands park

Place is pretty cool. Connected to playalinda beach with the Indian river lagoon opposite to it, but most of the area is marshland. That isn't to say that there isn't solid ground, however. There are plenty of trails to explore and it's a great area to fish. You have to appreciate its saltiness.

Can't believe nobody has said King's Canyon & Sequoia. It's Yosemite with less people and in my opinion more breathtaking views. Past Road's End there's almost nobody.

yeah man that whole day was pretty magical. i was out driving through jellystone for about 8 hours that day and the only other person i saw was a park ranger, we passed each other twice going opposite directions throughout the day.

i agree, sequoia national park is amazing. Probably not my favorite but I can't seem to pick one, so many beautiful places on this planet.

Just returned from backpacking in Wallowa STATE park, hope it still counts. It was wonderful and we literally did not see one person out there the whole trip.

Big desert National Park/Wyperfeld National park.

Went there with my brother and his work buddy a few years ago and have wanted a 4WD ever since. Literally nothing but bush, sand and big ass sand dunes.
