Gimme all your advice and techniques regarding knapping. I'm about to get my hands on an unlimited supply of chert and I think it's a cool activity to pass the time innawoods. So how do I begin?

glass is good to practice with but if you have unlimited chert just use it.
youtube is the place to start - find billy bergers channel called primitive pathways, its a good start and comfy viewing.

you can use the leather to control where the bits can fly someone who knows what he is doing shouldn't need safety glasses, there is not much of a chance of anything flying in that direction unless you literally banging stones together but that's not really knapping

break out bottle bottoms and start knapping right away you need a steel punch and a piece of leather and do it outside make sure the wind takes away the silica dust.

I'm used to working with obsidian but always use glasses and gloves when learning. I prefer copper tools over bone, I just feel like the copper gets better holds on the glass/stone.
