Those guys always have expensive gear and talk big, its their excuse for trying to chat up teen girls and not get cops called for taking pics of them.
Couple of years ago we had a 17 year old runaway punk chick regularly hang out at our favorite coffee shop. She had one hassle her on the street downtown front and try to BS his way into a 'model shoot' with some fake home printed business card for a firm that didn't exist. She said ok and took the old fart to a park nearby, then made off with his camera (an older D700 body) and a couple lenses. She brought them to us to ask how much she could get for them.
I gave her $100 for the 24/2.8, but mainly just because I thought it was funny as shit what she had done.
