Assuming the Nikon D3200 is the one you bought, here is a photo I just shot using the Nikon D3200 and 18-55mm VR kit lens of the camera's standard 52mm-diameter lens cap.
This photo covers the entire width of the lens cap. If you have one, look at it in real life. Are you really sure you need to pay money to get even closer in any situations?
The stock 18-55mm lens has its closest focus at 28cm or 0.9 feet throughout the entire focal range, using autofocus. (Meaning you can get equally close no matter if it's 18mm or 55mm focal length.) You can get slightly closer using manual focus. Note that that is the distance from the image plane, meaning the back of the camera. So you need to subtract the length of the camera house and the lens, which gives something like 3 inches distance.
Here, I took the picture at 55mm focal length and about 3 inches away using autofocus. Again, I could have come slightly closer using manual focus.
But honestly, won't this cover like 95% of all needs for macro photography?
