Noise reduction?

I only just got tired of wasting time in Photoshop and got me a copy of Neat Image (as a plugin).

Pretty darn satisfied. Pic related. What noise reduction do you all prefer?

Darktables profiled wavelet noise reduction is quite good. It doesn't make such even colors and retains a lot of detail.
Rawtherapees NR is crude and still leaves an ugly remnant of the noise
Aftershot Pro 2 NR is nice, when it works. It behaves rather odd when it suddenly decides it doesn't reduce noise and "fuck you, I'm not going to work even if you restart me"
Lightrooms NR is easy to use but in half the situations it loses detail compared to Darktable wavelet NR

It's actually quite difficult to use "properly".
Which is to use masking, and to add sharpening to counteract the loss of detail caused by the noise reduction.

Which is why I prefer Darktable, it is literally just switching the module on and boom, it works.
Shame it has such a bad color rendition for my camera, Nikons are so much better.

I'd like to add that I like to keep some degree of the noise. My camera has a very even, organic pattern of noise and adds a nice grainy aesthetic to the photos.

If I really have to, Imagenomic Noiseware, then blend it back with 50% opacity to a non-recuded noise original etc.

Otherwise, I just leave the default settings in camera raw, which is 0 for luminance noise, and just essentially desaturates the noise, that usually looks somewhat nice.

Although I rarely in that situation since I use an A7s.
