I expose my SD card to light all the time. No issues at all. I even deleted two entire shoots off the card by accident once. Oh fuck! Good thing I have free recovery software that found every photo I lost in about 15 minutes...

In all seriousness, how'd you do it? Open the back before rewinding? That stuff happens when you're new to it. You have to get the routine down.

When I was 10 I had a old russian camera that kept getting stuck every 2 images and so I usually opened it under a bus seat or under a piece of clothing to move the film around to get it unstuck.

In retrospect I can't believe I ever got any photos out of it.
